About Me
My Educational Journey
I've been a life-long learner and student of education. My passion for teaching others extended to all aspects of my life from my career as a teacher, my career in software development, and now my career as an instructional designer.
A Bachelor of Arts in English
In 2013 I earned my Bachelor's of Fine Arts in English and my teaching certification from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Here, I developed and mastered curriculum development, pedagogy, andragogy, revising & editing, proofreading, technical writing, and my creative writing skills.
My enjoyment for teaching was solidified as the skills I learned at UTSA have been the foundation for my ability to effectively communicate, write, and teach.
A Master's Degree in Education
I turned my love for reading, writing, and teaching as I returned to my Alma Mater to obtain my Master's of Education in 2019. During the course of my studies, I learned theoretical knowledge of business practices and emerging paradigms of organizational leadership as well as developed, analyzed and evaluated business programs, personnel management, curriculum development, and effective system implementation and practices for not only schools but any business.
After the Covid19 pandemic, my skillset needed to evolve further as eLearning become the centerpiece of all areas of teaching. During my time as a teacher for young adults, I started to build experience in audio/video editing, Learning Management Systems, and script writing. As I moved into adult learning, my expertise focused on instructional design system frameworks such as ADDIE and SAM along with additional technical work with programs like Storyline 3, 360, and Adobe Captivate.
My Services
Instructional Design is not simply the creation of tutorials, graphics, and eLearning documents. My services involve the analysis, identification and elimination of behavioral learning roadblocks which cost companies financial gains year over year.
The dissemination of knowledge is not enough to change the behavior of employees as these two elements are not mutually exclusive. For example, many people know how to lose weight, but actions taken to achieve such a goal is not routinely taken; this is the same in business.
I do not simply translate knowledge taken from Subject Matter Experts, I find solutions to the question, "What do we want our employees to do in order to increase revenue this year?"
